The seventh edition of the Money in the Bank event will be aired on 19/06/2016 from the T-Mobile Center in Las Vegas, Nevada. The event was aired live across various pay-per-view channels across the globe including a live stream on the WWE Network.

At WWE Extreme Rules 2016, former WWE Champion Seth Rollins attacked current Champion Roman Reigns. On Raw the following night, Shane McMahon set the match between Seth and Reigns for Money In The Bank.

Also on the 23rd May episode of Raw, several qualifying matches took place to enter the Money In The Bank ladder match. Sami Zayn, Cesaro, Chris Jericho, Dean Ambrose and Kevin Owens won matches. On 26th May edition of Smackdown, Alberto Del Rio entered the match. One further entrant is expected.

John Cena returned to WWE following missing action for half a year. AJ Styles interrupted him saying how he respected ena and welcomed him back. The Club came to the ring to confront John Cena, resulting in AJ Styles attacking Cena. Following a vicious beat down, the match was made official via WWE’s twitter.
