WrestleMania 32 was the thirty-second annual WrestleMania  pay-per-view (PPV) event produced by WWE. It took place on April 3, 2016, at AT&T Stadium in Arlington, Texas. This will be the third WrestleMania to be held in the state of Texas after 2001 and 2009, and the first to take place in the Dallas-Fort Worth Metroplex area.

Forbes had speculated that WrestleMania 32 could break the WWE wrestling attendance record of 93,173 set at WrestleMania III at the Pontiac Silverdomein Pontiac, Michigan. This record stood as the highest attendance for any indoor event until the 2010 NBA All-Star Game, also held at AT&T Stadium, drew 108,713. WWE managed to sell 101,763 tickets for the event, breaking WWE’s attendance record.

The main event saw Triple H defend his WWE World Heavyweight Championship, that he won at the 2016 Royal Rumble event against the winner of Dean Ambrose, Brock Lesnar and Roman Reigns at WWE FastLane which took place on 21st February 2016. Roman Reigns pinned Dean Ambrose with a spear to win the triple threat match.

On 22nd February episode of Monday Night Raw, Shane McMahon returned to the WWE, staking a claim into the ownership of the company. Shane McMahon accepted a challenge for a match of Vince’s choice. Mr McMahon revealed that Shane would take on The Undertaker inside Hell In A Cell at WrestleMania.

Following tension between Becky Lynch and Charlotte a match was set at the Royal Rumble. Thanks to Ric Flair, Charlotte retained. To the shock of the audience, Sasha Banks made her returned and attacked Charlotte. A number one contenders match was set between Becky and Sasha, with two matches going to no clear winner. As a result of Charlottes interference, a triple threat match was set for WrestleMania 32. On the WrestleMania pre-show, WWE Hall Of Famer Lita announced the retirement of the WWE Diva’s Championship, with the winner of the Triple Threat becoming the WWE Women’s Championship.

Following the March 14th edition of Raw, Renne Young announced a tag team match between The Usos and The Dudley Boyz at Wrestlemania.

At the event, The Rock was involved in an unannounced match as he took on Ewick Rowan following The Wyatt Family’s interruption. The match set a new record for the shortest WrestleMania match at just 6 seconds. John Cena made his return aiding the Rock following a beat down by The Wyatts.
