The sixteenth edition of the Royal Rumble event aired on 19/01/2003 from the FleetCenter in Boston, Massachusetts. There were seven matches contested on the card, with one on the Sunday Night Heat pre-show and three championships on the line. The main event featured the traditional Royal Rumble match with 15 RAW and 15 SmackDown superstars competing for the chance to go to WrestleMania XIX, with the under card being headlined with a contest for the WWE Championship with Kurt Angle defending against Chris Benoit. The event is now available to watch on the WWE Network under the pay-per-views section.
