The second annual New Year’s Revolution event saw a second Elimination Chamber match in it’s PPV history. John Cena defended his WWE title against 5 other men inside the steel structure. However history was made, when the first Money In The Bank winner, Edge cashed in his contract to become WWE champion. A moment which alone defined New Years Revolution 2006. Cena’s celebration was interrupted by Vince McMahon who announced that the night wasn’t over. In fact Edge will cashing in his WWE Money In The Bank contract on a bloody John Cena. Two spears later and we had a brand new WWE Champion. Edge kept the title for three weeks when he lost the title to John Cena at the Royal Rumble event.
