New Years Revolution 2005

Date: January 9 2005 | City: San Juan, Puerto Rico | Venue: Agrilot Coliseum | Attendance: 15,764

In a bid to expand the WWE Pay Per View market, another PPV event was added between Armageddon and Royal Rumble. New Years Revolution was the first WWE PPV to take place from Puerto Rico, and South America for the same fact. The main event saw the third ever Elimination Chamber take place to determine a brand new World Champion.

Two prior on Raw, Triple H defended the World Championship in a triple threat match against Chris Benoit and Edge. The match ended with Triple H tapping out, with both Edge and Benoit applying their own submission  moves on the Game. As a result of no defined winner, Tripe H’s surrendered the World title. At New Years Revolution the World title was determined. Triple H, walked out as champion.
