Battleground 2016

Battleground 2016

Date: July 24 2016 | Attendance: T.B.C | Venue: Verizon Center | City: Washington, D.C

The seventh edition of the Battleground event will be aired on 24/07/2016 from the Verizon Center in Washington, D.C. The event will be aired live across various pay-per-view channels across the globe including a live stream on the WWE Network.

At Extreme Rules 2016, Roman Reigns encountered a brutal battle with AJ Styles over the WWE World Heavyweight Champion. Whilst he may have being victorious, he was quickly upsurged by the returning Seth Rollins leading to their battle at Money in the Bank 2016. A truly intense battle which culminated in Seth Rollins becoming the champion once again, only for Dean Ambrose to quickly cash in his MITB contract and become the new WWE World Heavyweight Champion for the first time. With the brand split shortly before Battleground, what interesting dynamics and combinations can we expect as the WWE goes in its separate directions.
