WWE RAW 5 Things 01/01/18

With WWE RAW now officially underway into 2018, what can be taken away from the first episode? With the Royal Rumble 2018 on the horizon there is surely something which can be taken away from it. Here is the WWE RAW 5 Things 01/01/18…

  1. The Average Age:  the closing to WWE RAW this week featured a brawl between Kane and the WWE Universal Champion Brock Lesnar. Between them, their average age is 45. Kane is the eldest at 50 (and nearly 51) whereas Brock is 40. And both are part-timers in reality…
  2. The Women’s Rumble: it was revealed on RAW by Kurt Angle, that there will be 30 female competitors in the first female only Royal Rumble. This almost certainly means there will be appearances from the ladies of NXT but also from previous generations of the women’s division.
  3. The One Anniversary: believe it or not, Samoa Joe is rapidly approaching his first anniversary on RAW. This week he lost to Roman Reigns. But when you dwell on it, what has he achieved in that time. Unfortunately, it is quite disheartening. A title reign could have done him good…
  4. The Undefeated One: she has being on the RAW roster since the end of October. And believe it or not, Asuka still remains undefeated. This past week saw her defeat RAW Women’s Champion Alexa Bliss. But this would make a Rumble victory a bit obvious and plausible unfortunately…
  5. The Chosen Child: the product of a one-night stand with a former college date of Kurt Angle (cough). Jason Jordan continues to rise amongst the ranks on RAW. But this highly unconvincing storyline makes it difficult to digest, and ultimately take Jordan seriously. Shame really…

As the weeks continue to dwindle until the 25th Anniversary of Monday Night RAW, things could go north or south. It depends where the booking priorities are…
