Today, WWE have announced the release of three superstars; Emma, Darren Young and Summer Rae. The announcement came in waves and via Twitter and confirmed on the companies official website, WWE.com.

“WWE has come to terms on the releases of WWE Superstars Emma, Darren Young and Summer Rae.

WWE wishes them the best in all of their future endeavors.”

Other than personal releases, it has been a long time since several superstars have been given their future endeavors. For Darren Young and Summer Rae, it isn’t too much of a surprise. Since the brand split neither stars have really done anything.

Emma on the other hand has slowly been given chances on the Raw brand; in particular having Asuka’s Raw PPV debut at Tables, Ladders and Chairs.

Darren Young

Mr No Days Off has had an interesting run in WWE. Debuting, in the first season of NXT back in February 2010. He was key member of the Nexus invasion angle during the summer of 2010. After disappearing from the Nexus, Darren returned to NXT where he formed an alliance with Titus O’Neil. Following several years on the main roster the Prime Time Players eventually won the WWE Tag Team championship. A split of the duo didn’t fare too well. Darren sided himself with Bob Backlund in a long angle which didn’t really lead anywhere. His last televised match was on WWE Main Event on January 16th 2017.

The first Australian female in WWE showed plenty of promise in NXT; reaching the finals of the first NXT Women’s Championship tournament. Her goofy dance caught on in waves at Full Sail. However her awkward turtle dance didn’t capture the main stream audience. An alliance with Santino saved her career, however following Santino’s retirement Emma returned to NXT. A revitalised Emma saw a mean streak and success within the women’s division. She returned to the main roster just in time for WrestleMania 32. Despite having the talent, her character was never given the chance. In fact her Raw debut was postponed over 3 months. 2017, saw struggles for Emma as alleged backstage heat saw her held back. Her final match in WWE was at WWE TLC against Asuka.

Summer Rae

Summer Rae is best known for her time in Total Diva’s. She debuted on the main roster as Fandango’s dance partner in 2013.
