DDP on HOF Induction, One More Run & More

Diamond Dallas Page, or DDP as he is commonly known, made his WWE Debut in June 2001. He was controversially revealed as the stalker of The Undertaker‘s then-wife Sara in the Invasion storyline. He remained with the WWE as a competitor until April 2002, when he quietly retired due to nagging injuries (specifically a neck injury). But before this, he made his name in WCW where he reigned for nearly 10 years. Throughout that time, he held multiple championships and had high profile feuds with Goldberg, Sting, Ric Flair and Hollywood Hogan to name but a few. 2017 will see him inducted to the WWE Hall of Fame. Hear what DDP on HOF Induction and more when speaking with Justin Barrasso.

– When asked about being inducted into the WWE Hall of Fame, DDP replied…

“It’s huge. If I was given a choice to go back in time and say, Okay, we’re gonna let you do People’s Champion vs. People’s Champion with the Rock, that’s how I wanted to come in. I had that idea for two years but I didn’t push it. But if I knew for the next two years, barring an injury, I was gonna have an unbelievable run… or, at 55, I could be asked to host the very first Best of WCW Nitro DVD, then a Volume 2, then a Volume 3. Then they started bringing me back for “old school” RAW, letting me where my DDP Yoga s— everywhere, then they let me induct Jake, bring me to the Rumble, last year Mania, then give me the DVD and induct me? I’ll take this run every single time.”

– When asked about doing one more run, DDP replied…

“I always wanted to work with the Rock. I would’ve loved that. I’m a super big fan. I love the Rock. He’s been super kind to me in anything he’s ever said. He would be one.I’m too old now, but back when I was in my friggin late 40s, if I would’ve come back, Randy Orton. Even in my mid-50s we could’ve drawn: the Diamond Cutter vs. RKO. It would’ve been amazing.”
