Latest on Kane WWE Status
Glen Jacobs has being a prominent figure on WWE Television since 1995. He has competed under gimmicks such as Mike Unabomb. His notable early gimmick was as Isaac Yankem, DDS who was the private dentist of Jerry “The King” Lawler. He remained in this gimmick for just under a year when it was abandoned. He then embarked on the short-lived “Fake” Diesel gimmick until Royal Rumble 1997, when that was phased out. After months of speculation, Jacobs made his debut as Kane on October 5 1997. Nearly 20 years later, he is still competing under this gimmick. But he hasn’t being seen on SmackDown Live since November 2016. What is Kane WWE Status?
It has emerged from SportsKeeda that Glen Jacobs has actually taken some time off from the WWE. This has being done to heal his body, but also to prepare for his run as Mayor of Knox County in 2018. This will also enable him to focus more on his insurance agency, “The Jacobs Agency”. Throughout his near 22-year tenure with the WWE, Jacobs has reportedly done very well and saved what he has earned very well. Despite being nearly 50, he reportedly remains on a very lucrative WWE contract – estimated at $905,000 a year. This deal has reportedly just over a year remaining, at which point Jacobs is rumored to be hanging up the boots.
Based on this, it certainly doesn’t appear to be the end of his WWE career at this point. More a well-deserved break to focus on his future endeavors. Throughout his career, he has became a multi-time champion. He has held the WWE, World Heavyweight and Intercontinental Championships. Notably, he has become a 9-time WWE Tag Team Champion with a multitude of partners. What he had left to achieve remains to be seen when he returns to the WWE.
