John Cena WWE Return Confirmed

John Cena WWE Return Confirmed

On this past week of WWE SmackDown Live, it was confirmed that John Cena will make his long-awaited return. His absence has being in place since he fell short of capturing the WWE Championship at No Mercy. It has being confirmed that the John Cena WWE Return will take place on a WWE SmackDown Live on December 27 2016. Cena has recently being on hiatus in order to fulfill his filming commitments for the latest season of American Grit. But this isn’t the first sabbatical he has taken in 2016. In actual fact, it is his third. Fourth since October last year. But don’t get used to having him around. He is expected to take another sabbatical in early 2017 with his WrestleMania 33 very much in the year. He is expected to be at the Royal Rumble inside the Alamodome. But he isn’t expected to be at Elimination Chamber two weeks after from the Talking Stick Resort Arena in Phoenix.

His first hiatus came following the conclusion of WWE Hell in a Cell 2015 were he lost the WWE United States Championship to a returning Alberto Del Rio. It was a much needed sabbatical for Cena, who filmed the first season of American Grit, but a break from the road after over 10 years of constantly going. He returned two months later on December 28 2015 edition of RAW. It didn’t last long though. A week later, he was out of action again with a shoulder injury which required surgery. He would be out for an unspecified amount of time. In the interim, he made a brief appearance alongside The Rock at WrestleMania 32 where they took out The Wyatt Family.

He made his long awaited return to the WWE on May 30 2016 “Memorial Day” edition of RAW. At this point, it is where his long and enduring rivalry with AJ Styles began. They still have unfinished business as of now. Cena has yet to defeat AJ Styles one-on-one. His next sabbatical came when he lost to AJ Styles at SummerSlam 2016. It didn’t last long, and he returned a few weeks later challenging AJ Styles and Dean Ambrose to a triple threat match at No Mercy 2016 for the WWE Championship. Ultimately, he was unsuccessful. He has not being seen on WWE TV since.

Given how the past year, especially since May have played out for Cena. It could be fair to say that his days as a full-time WWE superstar could be behind him. Opportunities outside the wrestling world are now calling him. Make the most of him, whilst he is still here.
