Shawn Michaels WWE Return on the Cards?

Shawn Michaels WWE Return on the Cards?

Ever since he made his ceremonious in-ring departure from the WWE back in 2010, there has always being much speculation over whether a Shawn Michaels WWE Return was on the cards. He continues to make sporadic appearances for the WWE since in an ambassador role and occasional television character. He is arguably one of the most gifted in-ring competitors, and there has always being much hope he would return for the right opponent. Once upon a time it was Daniel Bryan. Now it is the WWE Champion AJ Styles. With the Royal Rumble 2017 returning to the Alamodome in San Antonio, TX this has leads to speculation that hometown boys Shawn Michael WWE Return would finally happen. However, the man himself has recently spoken out on a potential return in an interview with 105.3 THE FAN. Here is what HBK had to say on the matter…

“No one has even contacted me about that show. I don’t know if anyone cares that I’m from there. I think the WWE has happily moved on from me. I met AJ Styles once, he’s a phenomenal young man. He’s a very nice, very respectable young man and is unbelievably talented. I’m honored that my name pops up darn near every week in people’s wish for guys to wrestle. That’s a compliment to me and I’m thankful of that. But I’m very comfortable with my life and being retired.”

There is no doubt that a match between Shawn Michaels and AJ Styles would be truly phenomenal. But lets face it, the WWE needs to focus on their existing talent who are going to take the company forward into the next generation. SmackDown Live is making positive steps in the right direction to ensure their future. Whilst a match with Shawn Michaels or even The Undertaker for AJ Styles shouldn’t be ruled out completely down the line, for the WWE Championship it would not be the right thing.

What do you think about a potential Shawn Michaels return? We’d love to know what you think!
