6 Matches Confirmed; Current Backlash 2016 Card!

Backlash 2016

Current Backlash 2016 Card

Following the events of this weeks edition of SmackDown Live, we now inadvertently have six matches scheduled for Backlash. Granted, we have achieved one extra match through the injury sustained to Chad Gable. With four days to go until the return of Backlash, here is the current Backlash 2016 Card; what can we expect from the Blue Brand?

WWE World Championship

Dean Ambrose (c) vs. AJ Styles

WWE Intercontinental Championship

The Miz (c) vs. Dolph Ziggler

WWE SmackDown Women’s Championship

Natalya vs. Naomi vs. Carmella vs. Becky Lynch vs. Alexa Bliss vs. Nikki Bella

Second Chance Match – Winners Advance to Tournament Finals

The Usos vs. The Hype Bros

WWE SmackDown Tag Team Championship

T.B.D vs. Heath Slater and Rhyno

Singles Match

Randy Orton vs. Bray Wyatt

With these six matches confirmed for the card, it certainly does leave some scope for at least one, maybe two more matches to be put in place because otherwise the card is looking slightly thin on the ground. Given the events of this past week on SmackDown Live, one matches which could possible be added to the show is Kane versus Fandango. But in all honesty, that would be nothing more than a squash match and lets face it wouldn’t really achieve anything. What else could happen does remain to be seen. There are still countless undervalued SmackDown Live talents waiting in the wing, such as Baron Corbin or Apollo Crews. Why not use the opportunity to exploit all this SmackDown Live talent, and enter them in say a Battle Royal. The winner could then go forward to potentially face the Intercontinental Champion at No Mercy. It is an easy way of showcasing some of the talent, but also giving them some relevance and an opportunity to reach and grab for something. It sort of makes sense doesn’t it…

What do you think of the current Backlash 2016 Card? What about the WDD theories for the remainder of the show? we’d love to know what you think!
