Jerry Lawler vs Jeff Jarrett Confirmed

It has being confirmed that WWE Hall-of-Famer, and Memphis wrestling legend Jerry “The King” Lawler will collide with an old adversary, GFW Proprietor Jeff Jarrett at a Legends of Memphis Wrestling Event on September 10 2016 in Jonesboro, Arkansas as reported by 411Mania. A very intriguing and interesting match up, the card for the event is current set at;

Jerry “The King” Lawler vs. Jeff Jarrett

Bill Dundee vs. Dustin Starr (w/Maria)

Doug Gilbert vs. Austin Lane

Brandon Baxter vs. Derrick King

Also Appearing: Randy Hales, Lance Russell, Jimmy Hart and more to be confirmed

This marks the first noteworthy event for Jerry Lawler in the past few weeks since he was removed from the SmackDown Broadcast team at the Brand Split in July. This bought an end to his near 15 year run as color commentator for the company on both the RAW and SmackDown brands. His role has gradually being diminished over recent years following his heart attack in 2012. Since that fateful day, he has not being active in a WWE ring since. He currently remains a part of the WWE payroll nonetheless, as part of the pre-show panel as an analyst for RAW and SmackDown.

Jeff Jarrett has being out of the WWE for nearly 17 years. He later had success in WCW becoming a four-time WCW Champion, and remained with the company until it folded in 2001. He later, alongside his father Jerry Jarrett found TNA Wrestling in 2002 based in Nashville, Tennessee. He remained with the company until 2014. At this point, alongside his wife Karen Jarrett, they founded Global Force Wrestling. He continues to grow the GFW brand now, whilst maintaining appearances on the independent circuit.

His match against Jerry Lawler will certainly be an interesting one, and a clear drawing factor for the forthcoming Legends of Memphis Wrestling event.
