Latest on John Cena Status in WWE

He is rapidly approaching 15 years since he made his debut on the WWE Roster. He debuted, befittingly on the Blue Brand on June 27 2002. In a hard fought battle, he may have come up short against Kurt Angle but he certainly stood out. Now nearly 15 years later, he is back once again on the Blue Brand and a 15-time WWE Champion. The past year has certainly being turbulent for Cena though. He took a hiatus in Hell in a Cell last year, to take some much needed time off. He made a brief return just before the New Year before disappearing once again with a shoulder injury. He then made his long awaited return at the end of May on Memorial Day RAW. He then quickly became embroiled in a feud with AJ Styles and The Club. But it has now emerged that from a recent report from WhatCulture that John Cena may be in line to go on sabbatical once again…

His sabbatical at the end of last year came with the news that he would be filming American Grit. Whilst the initial season of American Grit may have not being a resounding success, it has in actual fact being renewed for a second season. With the news that a renewal for a second season may come as a surprise to some. It comes with the hidden fact that this may require Cena to take further time off should he participate in the next season. This is obviously bad news for the fans of Cena within the WWE Universe. But it certainly sets him in a good position for a time when his active competitor days are winding down.

At 39-years-old, there is still plenty of mileage left of the clock for Cena. He certainly has a lot left to offer to the Blue Brand. But more importantly, he has the required star power to help make the Blue Brand a success and help differentiate it from the Red Brand. Only time will tell on the latest saga in the ongoing career development of John Cena.
