The last WWE event as we know it has happened. From tonight, RAW and SmackDown went their separate ways. With eight matches lined up and one for the pre-show, there are 3 championships on the line. One match, years in the making marks the first time all three members of the former The Shield clash in a Triple Threat match. But this is for the WWE World Heavyweight Championship. Who will walk out champion. From the Verizon Center in Washington, D.C here are the WWE Battleground 2016 Results…

Pre-show: Tag Team Match 

Breezango (Tyler Breeze and Fandango) defeated The Usos (Jimmy and Jey Uso)

Sasha Banks and Bayley defeated Charlotte and Dana Brook

The Wyatt Family (Bray Wyatt, Erick Rowan and Braun Strouman) defeated The New Day (Big E, Kofi Kingston and Xavier Woods)

WWE United States Championship 

Rusev (c) (w/ Lana) defeated Zack Ryder to retain the WWE United States Championship

Sami Zayn defeated Kevin Owens

Natalya defeated Becky Lynch

WWE Intercontinental Championship 

The Miz (c) (w/ Maryse) fought Darren Young (w/ Bob Backlund) to a Double Disqualification

John Cena, Kenzo Amore and Big Cass defeated The Club: AJ Styles, Karl Anderson and Luke Gallows

WWE World Heavyweight Championship 

Dean Ambrose (c) defeated Seth Rollins and Roman Reigns to retain the WWE World Heavyweight Championship
