Brock Lesnar to UFC
It has emerged this morning that former WWE World Heavyweight Champion Brock Lesnar will be making a one-off return to UFC, competing at UFC 200 on July 9th, as confirmed by WWE.com. But, one key fact to be taken away from this is Brock will be making his long-anticipated return to the WWE Universe shortly afterwards to compete at SummerSlam 2016 at the Barlays Center in Brooklyn, New York on August 21st. After his initial departure from the WWE in 2004 at WrestleMania XX, he later emerged in UFC between 2007 and 2011 engaging in various fights but this included a notable battle with diverticulitis.
Every time Brock’s deal comes close to expiring, the rumor mill circulates over whether he will stay with WWE or return to UFC, but each time thus far has remained with the WWE being granted a very lucrative deal each time. He re-emerged in the WWE in 2012, and went onto have battles with Triple H and John Cena before last being seen earlier this year at WrestleMania 32 inside AT&T Stadium where he defeated Dean Ambrose in a Street Fight.
Whilst Vince McMahon would have being the one to grant this one-off opportunity for Lesnar, it is still unknown who he will be facing on July 9th…maybe an old nemesis from the WWE in the form of CM Punk could be on the horizon. But, why has McMahon being willing to grant this opportunity because lets be honest, there has to be something in this for him and the WWE. There cannot any other logical reason for McMahon to agree to the terms with Dana White unless there is something in it for him. Only time will tell how this deal will play out between the two companies, cross-promotion has being teased many times before so maybe this will be the time this comes to fruition.
