Stephanie McMahon speaks on Chyna
Only a short time ago, the news broke that former WWE Superstar Joanie Laurer better known to millions of fans as Chyna, had sadly being found dead at the age of 46, There was an outpouring of grief from the wrestling world for the former WWE Intercontinental and Women’s Champion. But this then bought about the million dollar question…should Chyna receive a place in the WWE Hall-of-Fame. Her former partner, Paul Levesque spoke candidly on the subject in 2015 during an interview with Stone Cold Steve Austin on his podcast outlining that whilst her professional achievements said yes it was ultimately her personal life choices which dictated a no.
There has being no mistake made about it, Chyna was blacklisted by the WWE following her departure in 2001 due to the heavily rumored personal conflicts with Paul and Stephanie who at the time had just begun dating. It was hoped that someday she would be able to reconcile with the company which made her name, but sadly this would never come to fruition. But since her death, there seems to have being a change of opinion on whether she should be inducted into the Hall of Fame. TMZ Sports recently caught up with Stephanie McMahon, when amongst other things she discussed the potential of a Hall of Fame Induction;
Whilst she wasn’t overly specific, it does remain encouraging that Steph envisages seeing her in the Hall of Fame at some point down the line. There is absolutely no doubt that she deserves it, she was a true pioneer in the history of the WWE throughout The Attitude Era. She stood strong in her first appearance choking out Marlena and stood strong in her final appearance taking out Lita. But she will always be remembered for capturing the WWE Intercontinental Championship at No Mercy 1999. #ChynaWWEHOF
