WWE News: Batista WrestleMania 32 Update

Batista WrestleMania 32 Update

WrestleMania 32 has being and gone now, it is officially in the history books. In amongst the sea off 100,000+ fans (allegedly), we witnessed several jaw dropping moments and some which for some of us left a little bit of a bitter after taste. One key moment was when following The League of Nations defeat over The New Day, three WWE Hall of Fame superstars made their way to the ring for a little beat up session of their own. The superstars in question where Shawn Michaels, Mick Foley and Stone Cold Steve Austin – three guys who I respect massively but this didn’t make any sense considering how little they’ve had to do with the main roster or product in the last 12 months. But it has now turned out that former WWE Champion Batista was reportedly offered the chance to be involved in the segment.

Around the Royal Rumble, Batista reportedly met with Vince McMahon to discuss some form of involvement in WrestleMania 32. Despite rumours from ProWrestling Sheet about the potential of a referee spot for the main event, which really wouldn’t have made sense in the slightest, was never on the cards because he wanted him to appear with the WrestleMania Legends. In all honesty, as I’ve said that segment made no sense anyway and having Batista involved would have made even less sense.

And here is why; HBK, Foley and Austin are from the same era of WWE (the late 90s) so in some weird way you can make sense of it through that but Batista was after that time and whilst he feuded with HBK in 2003, and was faced off against Foley in the Handicap Match at WrestleMania XX, there is nothing that can make him identifiable to the legends utilised. So, in actual fact his lack of involvement is actually beneficial for him because it has meant he has not come under any scrutiny. Thankfully, filming commitments for Guardians of the Galaxy Vol.2 prevented this from happening…
