Chyna Dead at 45!
It is with great sadness that we report that former WWE Intercontinental and Women’s Champion Josnie Laurer, aka the 9th Wonder of the World Chyna has being found dead at the age of 45. Little is known about her sudden death at this time other than it is speculated to be an overdose which has claimed her life.
Chyna made her wrestling debut back in 1997 as the bodyguard of Hunter Hearst Helmsley before later becoming an active competitor, being the first female to enter the Royal Rumble and later held the WWE Intercontinental Championship. She later disappeared from the WWE in 2001 amid a cloud of controversy.
Following her departure from the WWE, she later went onto have a limited in ring career but notably had an adult film career. Struggling with addiction for a number of years, it now seems to be her battle with addiction that has claimed her life. She later claimed controversy once again when she is claimed to have confronted her former boyfriend, Triple H at Roddy Piper’s funeral in 2015.
This is still a developing situation, and we will bring you an update as and when it happens. We here at WDD would like to thank Joanie for her endless contributions to the wrestling world throughout her short time with us, and offer our sincerest condolences to the friends and family at this difficult time.
RIP Joanie “Chyna” Laurer
