WWE News: Backstage News On John Cena Return!

Latest on John Cena Return!

Bar a fleeting appearance on the December 28 2015 edition of RAW where he defeated Alberto Del Rio by disqualification in a match for the WWE United States Champion and WrestleMania 32, John Cena has being absent from WWE television since he lost the WWE US Championship in the Open Challenge at Hell in a Cell 2015. In what was only intended to be a brief hiatus, an injury became apparent at the end of 2015 which bought an end to his brief return. He later underwent shoulder surgery on January 7 2016 and was expected to be out for a significant period of time.

However, it has now being reported by Inquisitr that Cena could be about to make an imminent return to the WWE. In the past, he has had a reputation of making a superman-style healing process from injuries and there is now speculation that this could be no different. At the time of his injury, he was the latest on the long line of those being injured. But now it is speculated that Cena could be back as soon as Extreme Rules at the end of May. But, in all seriousness there needs to be a logical and sensible reason for him to make a return. He cannot return early just for the sake of it and risk the recurrence of an injury.

But the thing is, the ratings in the WWE Universe are continuing to slide as the WWE Universe are simply not prepared to accept Roman Reigns as the WWE World Heavyweight Champion. It has being heavily speculated that the WWE would like to run a program between Cena and Reigns heading into SummerSlam but there is a sensible and logical solution to the storyline which Cena should participate in upon his return.

It is inevitable that Cena will become a 16-time WWE World Heavyweight Champion, that is a foregone conclusion but the WWE should really build this up over a significant period of time. They should ideally portray him as the wise veteran who questions whether he can still climb to the top of the mountain, not being able to achieve his former glory. This should be a continual build into WrestleMania 33, as the payoff from this will be even more significant. A imminent return from John Cena looks highly likely, but it needs to be for the right reasons.
