WWE Coverage: WWE RoadBlock – Results & Opinion

Welcome to The Dirty Deeds report, for that strange little event inbetween Fastlane and Wrestlemania. The Road to WrestleMania has arrived at a huge Roadblock in the Great White North. An exclusive WWE Network event being aired from Toronto, will see Dean Ambrose challenge Triple H for the WWE World Heavyweight championship. The Beast will also challenge Bray Wyatt one on one.

WWE RoadBlock Review & Results

WWE Tag Team Championship
New Day (Kofi Kingston & Big E) vs The League Of Nations (Sheamus & Wade Barrett)

New Day are easily the best part of WWE Television period! A brilliant promo which unveiled Booty-O cereal, where can I buy a pack? A highly energetic opening match with both teams using dirty tactics to take the advantage. Big E hits the Big Ending to retain tag team gold by pinning Wade Barrett.

Winners: New Day

Chris Jericho vs Jack Swagger

Yes!!! Chris Jericho is a bad guy. He comes to the ring chanting for AJ Styles, talks about he how great he is. He proclaims that he is the best thing out of Canada and why he moved to America. Jericho says Canada stinks with Toronto being the Anus. Ironically the crowd chant asshole back at Jericho. Jack Swagger is Jericho’s opponent tonight. Swagger holds his own against Jericho pulling of a very good match. Jericho picks up the win making Swagger tap out to the Walls Of Jericho.

Winner: Chris Jericho

NXT Tag Team Titles
Dash & Dawson (c) vs Enso & Big Cass

Hopefully Vince McMahon is watching this, Enzo and Cass are massively over with the crowd on the same level as the New Age Outlaws. Dash and Dawson might be boring but they are ring generals and brutal. The “3D” to Big Cass outside the ring was brilliant. Amore on the top rope headbutts Dawson. Amore takes out Dash. Roll up to Dawson. Dawson picks up Amore and Dash off the ropes with double knees to the face for the three count. Dash and Dawson retain the titles.

Winners: And still NXT Tag Team champions Dash & Dawson

WWE Diva’s Championship
Charlotte (c) vs Natalaya

I thought this was already a title match, pre match Natalaya challenges Charlotte for the Divas title. Nice to see Natalaya focused in a match especially against a diva who can wrestle. This is effectively a rematch from two years ago, from the NXT Women’s championship tournament. A really enjoyable Diva’s match with two ring technichans, given the right opponent, Charlotte is great in the ring. Thankfully, Ric Flair didn’t get too involved. Nattie applied the Sharpshooter to Charlotte. Ric Flair helped Charlotte, which distracted Nattie, allowing the Diva’s champion to roll up and pick up the win.

Winner: Charlotte and still Diva’s Champion

Brock Lesnar vs Bray Wyatt & Luke Harper

The Beast is here, but so is the buzzards. Just like Bray is disappointed, this match should have been at WrestleMania. Nice to see that WWE finally recognised the events of the Royal Rumble with the Wyatts taking out Lesnar. Bray speaks about how Lesnar is a destroyer, however his family will slay the Beast. Instead of a one one one match, Luke Harper will team up with Bray to challenge the beast. Bray takes a couple of punches from Brock and decides to leave Luke Harper in the ring to fend for himself. Bray watched Lesnar destroy Harper quick and easy. In some ways, this is a great way to protect Bray however it did make him weak.

Winner: Brock Lesnar

Sami Zayn vs Stardust

Lets go!!!! Sami Zayn is here!!! Sami takes on Stardust in a really nice lengthy match. Completely unexpected too, especially for the Canadian fans. Stardust delivered most of the offensive here, as the match went on, Stardust got ravelled and a slow transformation into Cody Rhodes started happening. Pretty much the last 6 months, just drop the gimmick already!

Winner Sami Zayn

WWE World Heavyweight Championship
Triple H (c) vs Dean Ambrose

Finally my internet has stablised… so here it is, the main event of Roadblock. Triple H’s first singles match since WrestleMania 31 and his first title defence since winning the strap at the Royal Rumble. The result surely can only be the Games but watching Dean Ambrose get so close to winning (once again) is always fun. Dean played a beautiful game, focusing on Triple H’s leg, which led to a beautiful Figure Of Four leg lock and Sharpshooter. The talking point is Dean Ambrose getting the three count only for his leg to be under the ropes. The match continued, the fight took to the outside again. With the Game planted onto the announce table, Dean missed a beautiful elbow, crashing himself through the table. Just as Dean escaped the 10 count, he walked right into a Pedigree for the Game to retain the title
