Championship Match added to Fastlane 2016

This past week on Monday Night RAW, it was revealed that WWE United States Champion Kalisto will defend his championship against Alberto Del Rio at the forthcoming Fastlane event in just less than 3 weeks. Since they began trading the championship between one another at the beginning of the year, this will mark the fourth championship match between the pair in two months.

Currently, the record stands at 2-2, with Kalisto having scored championship victories over Del Rio on RAW on 11/01/16 and the Royal Rumble 2016 whereas Del Rio holds a victories over Kalisto on SmackDown on 14/01/16 and SmackDown on 07/01/16. The winner of this match will obviously be in the prominent position in their feud, which could be drawing to a close. But from here, where do both men go as The Road to WrestleMania continues and who will be the WWE United States Champion heading into WrestleMania 32?

This is certainly helping to play down the rumours of Alberto’s suspected lower back injury as not overly serious, even though he hasn’t competed on television since the Royal Rumble. Maybe conventional methods of rest and some form of therapy maybe used to alleivate whatever back condition it is Del Rio is suffering from. Given how their short but intense feud has developed this far, it will certainly be interesting to see how they continue to develop this in the buildup to Fastlane. The championship reign seems to be aiding Kalisto fantastically in developing a singles career and make him identifiable with the fans. He is certainly in a position where he needs the championship more than Alberto.

Alberto doesn’t necessarily need the championship, if anything his association with The League of Nations is doing absolute wonders for not only himself but the other faction members. It is somewhat reminiscent of The Hart Foundation circa 1997, hopefully they will continue to build on the foundations they are establishing for themselves.

What do you think of the championship match being added to the Fastlane 2016 event and the last development in the feud between Kalisto and Alberto Del Rio…who do you think will walk out of Fastlane as champion…we’d love to know what you think!
