In an ongoing saga, WWE’s injury list is growing every week and the problems aren’t just isolated to the main roster. On Friday night, current WWE NXT Champion Finn Balor suffered an injury at NXT’s live event in Tennessee. Prior to Saturday night’s live event in Indianapolis, WWE confirmed reports that Finn Balor suffered an ankle injury during his match.
Based on a WWE.com report, we can reveal an excerpt from the report, confirming Finn Balor injury.
NXT Champion Finn Bálor suffered an ankle injury on Friday during an NXT Live Event in Nashville, Tenn. According to WWE physician Dr. Chris Amann, “Finn Bálor suffered an ankle injury, and will be unable to compete tonight.”
The NXT Champion will undergo further evalution on Monday, Amann said.
This is a huge blow for NXT; various reports have suggested that Finn Balor is not being rushed up to the main roster due to the importance of having him on the NXT roster. Luckily WWE have taped all episodes of NXT till Wrestlemania weekend so it makes the injury less of a massively blow than first thought. Normally an ankle injury takes 3 to 4 months to recover, so hopefully for Balor he is back in time to defend his NXT title against Samoa Joe at NXT Takeover: Dallas.
Following Bailey’s match on Saturday night, she introduced the injured Balor to the crowd. The Women’s champion then imitated Finn Balor’s unique entrance, something which cheered up Balor massively.
