Wrestlemania is synonymous with The Undertaker, who in the past decade has delivered a clinic of incredible feuds and matches at the “Grandest Stage Of Them All”. Other than Bray Wyatt at Wrestlemania 31, Undertaker’s Mania opponents have been high profile superstars. Triple H, Shawn Michaels, Edge, CM Punk and of course Brock Lesnar. So for many fans and even more so in recent weeks, there have been huge amount of speculation of who will The Undertakers Wrestlemania opponent be?
John Cena was practically etched into that position; naturally given his position in the company a match between the two is huge. The last time they faced was back in 2003. Sadly a shoulder injury to Cena in January halted any plans of this happening. Despite this, John tweeted out on Monday a cryptic message suggesting that he could be back for Wrestlemania.

Given John’s injury status, it is very unlikely that he will return in time for Mania. The leader of the Cenation should take time to properly heal rather than rush back into the squared circle. So who could it be? Fellow writer Dave gave his theory and ideas on who could face The Undertaker at Mania.
Based upon the latest backstage report, Dave Meltzer revealed that WWE has an opponent setup for the Undertaker at WrestleMania 32; however Meltzer revealed that this person is not on the roster right now. Indicating several things, is it an injured star, someone on the NXT roster or a legend not under contract.
Thankfully, Bryan Alvarez asked for clarification on Wrestling Observer Radio by pointing out all of the above and got this answer
“It’s someone who is not an active wrestler, is what I was told. Yeah, which made me think Sting. I mean, I don’t know that that’s who it is but when you’re looking it’s like who is there out there? Sure, you could do Bill Goldberg but I don’t see Vince McMahon and Bill Goldberg doing business. … What other names are there? People say Rob Van Dam and I don’t see that at all. Who else is not on the roster that could come in and wrestle at that level?”
Realistically who else can perform at this level? As good as some of the talent in NXT, surely this rules out anyone from the developmental roster. Seeing Goldberg face The Undertaker would suck more than Batista being shoved into the main event of Wrestlemania XXX. Quite simply the conclusion is this, we are still left speculating and if I am honest that is not a bad thing at all.
