WWE News: NXT Award Winners Revealed

NXT Awards 2015

On the final episode of NXT; WWE announced that NXT will have it’s own yearly awards, voted for by the fans on WWE.com. Several categories were announced; including an Overall Competitor Of The Year that including male and female wrestlers. On last nights episode of NXT, WWE revealed the 2015 NXT award winners.

Tag Team of the Year:
Enzo & Cass

Enzo and Cass are hugely popular and it is no suprise that NXT fans voted for them to become Tag Team of the Year.

Female Competitor of the Year:
Bayley

It’s Bayley!!! No other female on the NXT roster has worked harder than Bayley. Her rivalry with Sasha Banks took women’s wrestling to new heights, including main eventing NXT Takeover:Respect. It should be a matter of time till Bayley moves to the main roster.

NXT TakeOver of the Year:
NXT TakeOver: Brooklyn

In-front of red hot crowd at the Barclays Arena in Brooklyn; NXT Takeover: Brooklyn took NXT to new heights. Bayley vs Sasha Banks was incredible, the rematch between Finn Balor and Kevin Owens was beautiful. Let’s be honest NXT Takeover has been a highlight of WWE in 2015.

Match of the Year:
Bayley vs. Sasha (NXT TakeOver: Brookyln)

It is no shock that the event of the year also contained the match of the year. Bayley and Sasha tore the house down; telling  beautifully told story. Following several near falls, Bayley captured her dream by becoming NXT Womens champion infront of 15,589 fans.

Male Competitor of the Year:
Finn Balor

Overall Competitor of the Year:
Finn Balor

Look back at the Summer of 2014, fans were buzzing for the signing of Kevin Steen, Kenta Kobayashi and Prince Devitt. As Finn Balor, Devitt has taken his in ring excellence and transformed it into NXT. His matches are stellar mainly stealing each NXT show. So much so that him and Kevin Owens were given the opportunity to wrestle on a WWE Beast in the East show for the NXT Championship. Ironically in the venue that made Prince Devitt in the New Sumo Hall. As NXT champion Finn has proudly helped NXT grow into an internationally recognised brand. With the strong rumours of the Bullet Club coming to WWE, it will only be a matter of time that Finn debuts on the main roster.
