WWE News: Brock Lesnar To Enter The Royal Rumble

Brock Lesnar WWE Champion

A local television ad promoting the 2016 Royal Rumble event has leaked the possible reveal that The Beast Brock Lesnar will compete in the 30 man Royal Rumble match for the first time since 2004. Making the event in Orlando, Florida all that more interesting.

As advertised on this weeks episode of Raw, Brock Lesnar will make his return this upcoming Monday on Raw. With his return, it is to be expected that Paul Heyman will announce Brocks entry to the Rumble match. With the shocking news that Roman Reigns will now defend the WWE World Heavyweight title in the Royal Rumble match. Brock will immediately be one of the top favourites to walk out of the Rumble as champion.

The TV advert has certainly spoiled the obvious. It wouldn’t make any sense for Brock not compete for the WWE Title when its a Rumble match. However it is still possible for Lesnar to compete in another match at the event or plant seeds for a possible Wrestlemania match. Back in December The Wrestling Observer indicated that Brock will appear in 3 PPV events in a row starting at the Royal Rumble event.

Brock has only competed in 2 Royal Rumble matches. He won in his debut match back in 2003 and was eliminated by Goldberg in 2004. Since Lesnar returned in 2012, The Beast appeared on the 2013 show to destroy The Big Show. Whilst last year he defended his WWE World Heavyweight Title in a classic triple threat match involving Seth Rollins and John Cena.

With the odds stacked against Roman Reigns, WWE need to add plenty of legitimate threats. Adding Brock is the sensible move, which at the moment is not confirmed. So far only 10 men have been officially entered into the match for Roman Reigns WWE World Heavyweight title.
