TLC 2015 Preview & Predictions
Well, we are just over 24 hours away from WWE’s version of a Demolition Derby, the seventh annual TLC event but this year without the stairs (thankfully). After the lackluster and dreary efforts of Survivor Series, things can only get better we hope. I’ll be bringing you the live updates for TLC so keep your eyes peeled for that tomorrow but here I go with the previews and predictions…
WWE World Heavyweight Championship: TLC Match – Sheamus (c) vs. Roman Reigns
Since cashing his MITB contract at Survivor Series, Sheamus has being on a little mini roll to build momentum aa the face of the WWE. He is playing the role of antagonist well and seems to be generating an aurora around him. Reigns, on the other hand does have some momentum but fails to capture me as a bona fide contender for tge title, as I’ve said before he suits the championship run, chase and chase, build the anticipation and then let it implode. Nevertheless, it should be a good match but needs a big spot/moment to make it memorable.
Match Prediction: Sheamus to retain
WWE Intercontinental Championship: Kevin Owens (c) vs. Dean Ambrose
This match in my opinion has the potential for one of two things, it’ll either be very good or amazing. I sincerely hope its the later but this has the potential to be the match of the night and I’d really wouldn’t like to pick a winner, both men could benefit from the win but a loss could harm both. Owens needs momentum if he is to face Lesnar whereas Ambrose needs a win following the loss at Survivor Series. Very difficult to call…
Match Prediction: Owens to retain
WWE Divas Championship: Charlotte (c) w/Ric Flair vs. Paige
Say what you want, but I really enjoyed their match at Survivor Series and their feud has only intensified since and continues to gain strength and momentum. Personally, I wish they hadn’t of faced off the night after Survivor Series but hey ho but this match has real potential to develop something good and steer the WWE Divad division in a good direction for 2016 but I’m lookingforward to this match because of a certain goth…
Match Prediction: Paige to win
WWE United States Championship: Chairs Match – Alberto Del Rio (c) vs. Jack Swagger
Who and what is Jack Swagger, you know former WWE Champion…no, not surprised given his fall in the company, he is nothing more than a glorified jobber whose primary purpose is going to be making Alberto look good. Since he returned at Hell in a Cell, Alberto has being fire and continues to build his comeback so a win is pretty much a foregone conclusion for him, get him in a stronger position for Cena’s inevitable return and feud, which I believe will happen at TLC…
Match Prediction: Del Rio to retain; Cena to return
WWE Tag Team Championship: Triple Threat Ladder Match – The New Day (c) vs. The Usos vs. The Lucha Dragons
The New Day I get, and they have really grown on me whereas I am not a fan of The Usos or Lucha Dragons. I respect their talent but the Dragons remind me of a bad WCW gimmick whereas I just don’t get The Usos. The match itself should be pretty good, with some nice spots and moments but for me, The New Day to retain as realistically there isn’t another credible worthy team in the tag division at the moment.
Match Prediction: The New Day to retain
8-Man Tag Team Elimination Tables Match: The ECW Originals vs. The Wyatt Family
Now, believe it or not I am looking forward to this match not for the technical classic it won’t be, but more so the story which will be told in the ring. In reality, The Wyatt Family need to win to regain momentum following their squash at Survivor Series but so do The Dudley Boyz, Dreamer and Rhyno. They need to be taken seriously as a trio rather than another McMahon attempt at burying ECW. I know who I’d like to win, but cannot see it happening.
Match Prediction: The Wyatt Family (fingers crossed)
Ryback vs. Rusev w/Lana
This match for me is the obvious filler material and the stereotypical big man match. Whilst he has improved, I still can’t stand Ryback and since Lana’s return, Rusev has lost so much momentum its unreal. As I will see this as his continued burial, Rusev won’t fair well in this pitiful excuse for a match and it will be over before it has started.
Match Prediction: Ryback to win, quickly
Overall, the WWE really needs to end 2015 with a statement, a big bang to catapult them into 2016 with about as much momentum as possible. One thing that hits me with this card is the exclusion of several key talent like The Miz, Dolph Ziggler, Wade Barrett and Tyler Breeze to name but a few. Nevertheless, they need to use this platform to put the dreary, watery rubbish behind them and give us fresh and innovative content. I know they can do it but they really need to think logically and outside the box. Everything as we know has a start then a middle then an end…WWE needs to consider this when devising the show build it up throughout the night with edgey and dynamic content to pick the fans interest, and then let the finish shine. Give how things appear to be internally and externally, TLC surely could be a little interesting.
What do you think our our match previews and predictions for TLC 2015, do you agree with them or are we totally off the mark…we’d love to know what you think!
