WWE News: Randy Orton Likely To Miss Wrestlemania 32

Randy Orton disappeared from action just before Hell In A Cell without warning, with a suspected injury. Since then Randy has not appeared on any house show or TV. The absence required a complete rehaul for the Hell In A Cell pre-show match. WWE have remained silent on Orton’s appearance, other than utilising Bray Wyatt as the storyline reason to the disappearance of the Viper. Last night WWE’s official site provided an update to Randy Orton’s injury and it is not good news at all.

“Randy has suffered from a dislocated shoulder. He’s had chronic problems with his shoulder, and a recent MRI that was done found he has a Bankart lesion in his shoulder, some stretched ligaments and a partially torn rotator cuff,” WWE physician Dr. Steve Daquino told WWE.com. “At this point it’s a matter of when he dislocates the shoulder again, and not if. Surgery seems imminent, and recovery time for such a surgery would be four to six months.”

As the WWE reports states, Orton’s shoulder injury requires surgery and will leave Orton out of action for 4 to 6 months. This mean’s that Randy is very likely to miss next years Wrestlemania 32 that takes place on 3rd of April.

For Orton, this is actually a good thing. After being pretty much on top for the past 11 years, it is good for top stars to have a break, even in the event of injury, to recharge and re-establish themselves. I really rate Orton as a performer. He is incredible in the ring, however is very easy to get boring as a character. The guy has so much potential, however struggles to deliver. Whilst, Orton has several wow moments, keeping his momentum has been difficult.

A fresh faced Orton, is best for business. Upon his return, he easily has a feud with Bray Wyatt lined up. The storyline attack will really help Orton give a sense of purpose and direction when he returns. Sadly for Orton this is likely to after Wrestlemania, an event he hasn’t missed since 2003!!!!
