Royal Rumble 2014 – Preview

Royal_Rumble_2014_posterSo the first PPV of 2014 is today, the Road to Wrestlemania 30 officially beings.

Pre-show
New Age Outlaws vs. Cody Rhodes and Goldust – Tag Team Championship
The New Age Outlaws get their first tag title shot in nearly 14 years and have proved recently that they still have it in the ring. Should be a very good match however I can’t see Rhodes Dynasty losing the titles on a pre-show.

Predicted Winners – Goldust and Cody Rhodes

Daniel Bryan vs Bray Wyatt
After joining the Wyatts and turning on them 2 weeks later Daniel Bryan finally gets his one on one match against Bray Wyatt. Surely Bryan is on for an easy win here, to get revenge and move forward onto Wrestlemania.

Predicted Winner – Daniel Bryan

Brock Lesnar vs The Big Show
Back in Lesnar’s first run with WWE, he had a lengthy feud with the Big Show, and actually delivered. To me it seems odd to make Big Show the one man to take down the beast, especially when Mark Henry first made the challenge. Brock has yet to disappoint since his return and this make shouldn’t be an exception. Big Show will make Lesnar look strong and a F5 on the Big Show always is a sight to see!

Predicted Winner – Brock Lesnar

WWE World Heavyweight Championship – Randy Orton (C) vs John Cena
Cena’s 100 title rematch again Orton is as exciting as watching paint dry. The build up has been weak and repetitive, are we really meant to care the Orton attacked Cena’s Dad? Undoubtedly both will deliver an interesting match. Orton will beat Cena and take the title onto Wrestlemania.

Predicted Winner – Randy Orton

Royal Rumble Match
For the first time in a while, the Royal Rumble actually has meaning. With just one world title, the winner of the Royal Rumble will headline Wrestlemania, not open the show. The odds are squarely against CM Punk to win, starting at the number 1 spot, however Punks should last a long time and is still one of the favourites. A returning Batista is gunning for the WWE title, and is an easy bet to be winner as well. Finally Daniel Bryan, with the role that he has been on and the crowd reactions Bryan would be the sensible pick. I want Bryan to win, CM Punk deserves the win too however Batista’s return is to headline Wrestlemania and he will (annoyingly) win.

Predicted Winner – Batista
